Beyond School Adventures (BSA) is an after school and summer program that has been designed with your child and our community in mind! BSA is licensed and inspected by the State of South Dakota Department of Social Services. We provide age appropriate programming, supervision, and care for school children ages 5-12 years. We welcome children of all backgrounds and abilities.
We accept Child Care Assistance via the Department of Social Services, and need-based scholarships may be available. Information can be found here, or you may obtain a brochure from the BSA Director. Our programs are based on research and development of appropriate educational, developmental, and recreational activities and lessons. We strive to have fun while learning. Our after school activities are based on the natural curiosity of children, a need for physical activity, and social, emotional, and developmentally appropriate growth and practices. We have incorporated positive behavior supports (PBIS) inline with those practiced at both Austin and Jolley Elementary schools. Our after school snack and summer menus are based on State regulated nutritional guidelines, and we strive to offer healthy and consistent choices for the bodies and minds of all of our students. Our staff is trained using a state-provided 13-certification orientation and on-site personal development. All staff are required to be CPR and First Aid certified and receive ongoing training in best childcare practices throughout their employment. |
